004.366 I’m grateful for good wine, great friends, and for living smack dab in the middle of German wine country. The Deutsche Wein Strasse (German Wine Road) is just a 30 minute drive on the autobahn from us. A vineyard in Freinsheim hosted a Red Wine Hike today! The rain abated for the several hours we were there. We parked at the soccer field and began the hike through slightly muddy trails because of the last few days’ rain. It wouldn’t be January in Germany without a little bit o’ rain! You walk for about 500 meters then stop at white tents for wine and snacks as such pork kebabs grilled over an open pit, potato pancakes, dumpfnudel, shrimp spaghetti, crepes with nutella, coffees, cocoa, and so much more that I can’t recall.
